2020 has been a challenging year for all of us. It certainly hasn't been easy on me, especially having to deal with this pandemic all by myself and on top of that, grieving the loss of a loved one. I've always prided myself of my strength and my ability to handle difficult times on my own. But you reach a point in your life where you wish for once you can have someone be there with you and be your rock. Since that's not the case, I've decided that for 2021in order to keep my sanity and make life a bit more interesting during this COVID pandemic I will do a 365-day project. I will find things to do that will make my life a bit more fulfilling. Activities that will keep me busy and also help to mend a broken heart and also help me in my journey to heal from the passing of a loved one. Everyday I will accomplish something or experience something new: whether it's a new hobby, a DIY project, make a new friend, learn to cook a new recipe, or volunteer for a new cause. So let's see where this journey takes me!

Snow Tubing at Monarch Mountain:

For the first day of my 365-day project I ended up doing a day trip to Monarch Mountain for some snow tubing with friends. This was my first time there, it's about a 2 1/2 hour drive from Colorado Springs and about a 3 hour drive from Denver. Cost was $24 for one hour and they had plenty of free parking spots. This is a great alternative to the more expensive locations such as Frisco, Keystone and Copper Mountain. It's also not as overly crowded and we managed to do about 11 runs in our one hour.

Boathouse Cantina in Salida CO:

On our way back home we stopped at the Boathouse Cantina located in downtown Salida. It is a very quaint and cozy restaurant right by the river with great river and mountain views. They carry a wide variety of food options and you can't go wrong with their fish and chips!
